MIT I NISTAVILO

Pozorište je rođeno iz mita
iz napora da shvati neuhvativo
da uhvati večno
u magnovenju
da ovekoveči mit prolaznošću
svoje igre

Stvarnost je ništavilo
jer dok biva
već ne postoji
Bila je maločas budućnost
a već je prošlost
Sadašnjost dakle
ne postoji

Sadašnjost pozorišta
slika je stvarnosti
u tom lelujavom nepostojanju
gde budućnost beži u prošlost
bez povratka

Žudnja za mitom
žudnja je za večnošću
strast da se nešto
od ništavila sačuva

I zato je pozorište
bekstvo u mit
po stopama ništavila

Mit postoji
u pozorištu
od građe
nekadanjih ništavila

MYTH AND NOTHINGNESS

Theatre is born of myth,
From the effort to comprehend the
incomprehensible.
To seize the eternal
In one fleeting moment.
To immortalise myth
through the transience
Of the play
Reality is nothingness
For, while it exists.
It has already ceased to live.
A moment ago it was the future
Yet now is already the past.
Thus the present
Does not exist.
The present of the theatre
Is the true picture of reality
In that wavering non-existence
Where the future flees into the past
Never to return
The desire for myth
Is the desire for immortality.
The passion to save something
From the world of nothingness.
And so the theatre
Is a flight into myth
In the footsteps of nothingness.
Myth exists
In the theatre
And is built upon
The nothingness that went before
